Terms & Conditions

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using the Ocean State Disaster Team ("OSDT") website, volunteer portal, or any of our services — including submitting your phone number for call or text communications — you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

2. SMS / Text Messaging Terms

By providing your mobile phone number and opting in to receive communications from OSDT, you expressly consent to receive recurring automated or manually dialed text messages (SMS/MMS) from Ocean State Disaster Team. These messages may include:

  • Volunteer scheduling, shift assignments, and reminders
  • Event information, announcements, and updates
  • Application and membership status notifications
  • Urgent or emergency organizational alerts

Consent is not a condition of membership or service. Message and data rates may apply depending on your carrier and plan. Message frequency varies.

To opt out: Reply STOP to any text message at any time. You will receive a confirmation and no further messages will be sent.

3. Phone Call Communications

By providing your phone number, you also consent to receive phone calls from OSDT for purposes related to your volunteer application, membership, event participation, or other organizational matters. You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us directly.

4. Volunteer & Membership Terms

  • Participation as a volunteer or member is subject to OSDT policies and approval
  • Members are expected to maintain conduct consistent with OSDT's mission and values
  • OSDT reserves the right to suspend or remove any member or applicant at its discretion

5. Event & Sponsorship Terms

Sponsorship payments and vendor fees are non-refundable unless otherwise stated in writing by OSDT. Participation in events is subject to availability and OSDT's right to modify or cancel events due to circumstances beyond our control.

6. Limitation of Liability

OSDT shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of our services, communications, or participation in events or volunteer activities.

7. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
